Hi. I'm Harold.
Better Squares is a one-person QR code business. I show up at local shops with a briefcase of samples (including one already made for the shop), let you try it for two weeks, then ship the real order to your door once you decide.
I started Better Squares because I was sick of seeing QR codes that looked like they were generated in a hurry by someone who didn't care. I think a QR code on your storefront is a piece of your brand — it should look intentional. It should also actually scan.
So I built a four-level QA gate: three different scanner algorithms on the clean image, the same scanners again on degraded versions, a vendor-proof recheck before printing, and a physical sample test at delivery size. The target is the 95% real-world reliability ceiling for showpiece-tier codes — grounded in the scan research, not in theatre. If a code fails any level, it doesn't ship.
I'd rather lose the order than ship a bad code.
I also believe pricing should be plain. One-time. No subscriptions. No "growth plans." You pay for the QR, you own it, you put it on the wall. Your short link stays live forever as long as you've bought a piece — re-point it whenever you change websites. If something arrives and doesn't scan, I make it right.
